HOT AND COLD STREAKS IN NBA BASKETBALL
Hot streaks and cold streaks can be hard to understand at times. A team can be playing top quality basketball and then one poor performance can start a skid. Out of many factors that can be the case I can identify with two. When a team is playing well this level of confidence is directed toward each member of the team. When bad things happen and a losing streak starts to take place the lack of confidence becomes a domino effect for each player. Over analyzing your performance level becomes an epidemic, thus creating a game of mental mistakes versus a game of fluid play when your game is in top form. Also, a team with several players experiencing negative or descending biorhythms can have a subpar performance.
(Biorhythms are life cycles that started the day we were born. These energy level will fluctuate from positive to negative throughout our lives). This caliber of play can start a losing streak. Below are some hot and cold streaks that have been a part of the NBA this season. The 76ers got off to a great start posting a very impressive 15-4 record thru December 4. However, December 6 - January 12 this team won only four of 18 games. Another team, the Hornets, started in top form winning 10 of 13 games. However, this team hit a skid from December 15 - January 15 winning only three of 16 games. The Celtics battled for the top spot in the Atlantic division early in the season. The Celtics were 16-5 from November 2 - Decemberf 14. This team hit a skid from December 25 - January 13 winning only two of 10 games. These hot and cold streaks will always be a part of NBA basketball.
